A police officer's property was seized in Mykolaiv for drug trafficking

<span><span><span><span><span><span>A court has ordered the seizure of property belonging to an operative of the National Police’s Department of Strategic Investigations in the Kherson region. The law enforcement officer is suspected of distributing narcotics and psychotropic substances among civilians and military personnel in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>During a search of a Volvo vehicle (carrying humanitarian cargo from the “Angel Hearts” charity foundation) driven by the suspect, law enforcement officers seized 37,000 UAH in cash, a Samsung cell phone, a USB flash drive, and an unknown brown powdery substance.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>According to the investigation, the funds were given to the detainee in exchange for the unimpeded transport from Kherson to Odesa of a soldier who had deserted his unit. The suspect personally drove him in a volunteer-owned car and guided him through four checkpoints, presenting his service ID and providing the correct passwords. He was detained at the last checkpoint.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

Earlier, investigators referred to court the case of a serviceman who sold rear-area positions and stored ammunition and explosives at home. The defendant faces up to seven years in prison.

Law enforcement officers documented the transfer ofa$1,500depositand copies of the man’s personal documents to the serviceman. He received the money in his own car. The cash, documentation, and vehicle were seized as physical evidence. The court ordered the seizure of the vehicle and the confiscated property.
