The ARMA has found a manager for the confiscated Russian-owned cargo ship Emmakris III. It is moored at one of the berths in the port of Chornomorsk, Odesa region.

This was reported by the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency.

This is the first time theEmmakris III vessel has been placed under management. According to the ruling of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, it has no right to leave the port of Chornomorsk. However, according to an independent appraiser, the vessel can be effectively used as a floating grain storage facility for transshipment and storage of dry cargo.

The management agreement was signed with the private company Marinex. Another 9 seized vessels were also assigned to the manager.

The cargo vessel Emmakris III was built in 2000, has 7 holds with a cargo capacity of 73,281 deadweight tons and a draft of 6.8 meters. The vessel has a total length of 225 meters and a beam of 32.26 meters. It was arrested in the summer of 2022.

ARMA noted that nine vessels were previously managed by Sof Marine. Under the terms of the new agreements between ARMA and the new manager, monthly guarantee payments to the state budget will exceed UAH 5.7 million. Under the management of Sof Marine, these nine vessels brought in only UAH 10 thousand per month for each. Thus, the new revenues for one month are equal to the amount of payments Sof Marine has received for more than four years.

Recently, the state-owned Odesa Port Company put the Admiral De Ribas vessel for sale for the second time, along with the equipment attached to it. The starting price remained the same - UAH 22.5 million. However, the auction did not take place.

Meanwhile, in the first nine months of 2024, Odesa seaports showed a significant increase in cargo turnover. Thus, from January to September 2024, 74 million tons of cargo passed through the ports. This is a significant progress compared to the same period last year, when only 41.1 million tons were handled. Agricultural products made a particularly significant contribution, amounting to 46.3 million tons. This emphasizes its key role in the country's economy and exports.
