A new coronavirus outbreak has been detected in Mykolaiv region. About a thousand people have fallen ill in three weeks.

This was reported by the press service of the Health Department.

Since mid-August, Mykolaiv has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. Over the past three weeks, from 08/13/2024 to 09/02/2024, 969 cases of infection were recorded, of which 107 people were hospitalized. One death was also reported.

Doctors remind that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent severe coronavirus disease. People from risk groups, as well as everyone else, can get vaccinated by making an appointment with their family doctor if it has been 6 months since the last vaccination.

In August, 408 people were vaccinated in the city. Primary healthcare centers in Mykolaiv are provided with the Comirnaty vaccine, manufactured by Pfizer. Vaccinations against COVID-19 remain free of charge for all Ukrainians.

Doctors in Odesa region also reported that the coronavirus is "rearing its head" again. In August, 505 cases were recorded in the region, which is 26 more than the year before. The increase was recorded both among children - by 27% (80 vs. 63) and among adults - by 2.2% (425 vs. 416). The region also received 1740 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Health has also reported an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 over the past month. However, so far, they see no reason to introduce restrictive anti-epidemic measures.

In July, a total of more than 8,000 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Ukraine, and in June - more than 2,000 cases.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine does not provide instructions or a recipe for quick recovery from coronavirus. This is especially true given the different course of the disease and the individual characteristics of each patient.

Among the tips given by the professional community to patients who have suffered from COVID-19 are sleeping patterns and a balanced diet, moderate physical activity, exercises to train the brain and cognitive abilities, and walks in the fresh air.
