Over the past day, Russian troops continued their massive attacks on populated areas in the Kherson region. More than 40 settlements in the region, as well as the city of Kherson, came under enemy drone attacks and artillery shelling.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the occupiers targeted critical and social infrastructure, residential neighborhoods, and civilian facilities.
As a result of the attacks, four high-rise buildings and ten private homes were damaged. Russian forces also destroyed a cultural institution, gas stations, a public building, a cell tower, and private vehicles.
According to the Regional Military Administration, 12 people were injured as a result of the Russian aggression.
In addition, a 61-year-old resident of Kherson died in the hospital after being attacked by a Russian drone on June 21 in the city’s Dniprovskyi district. Medical staff fought to save his life for several days, but his injuries proved fatal.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office added that on June 22 alone, five people were wounded as a result of Russian attacks. Four residents of Kherson and one resident of the village of Molodetske were injured by enemy drone strikes. Among the wounded is an official from the regional administration.
An administrative building, a preschool, a warehouse, and both freight and passenger vehicles were also damaged.
Law enforcement officials have launched a pre-trial investigation into alleged war crimes. Prosecutors and investigators are documenting the consequences of the Russian attacks.
Over the past day, 11 people were evacuated from frontline communities in the Kherson region.
Earlier, Russian forces attacked a commuter bus in the Korabelny district of Kherson with a drone.One man was killed in the strike, and two others, including the driver, were injured.
