In the Odesa region, a court remanded a 64-year-old man in custody on suspicion of treason. According to the investigation, over the course of a year and a half, he passed on the coordinates of military, port, and critical infrastructure facilities in the region to a representative of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, from July 2024 to December 2025, the suspect communicated via Telegram with a representative of the Russian Armed Forces. According to law enforcement, the man held pro-Russian views, endorsed the aggression against Ukraine, and knowingly helped the enemy gather information about facilities in the Odesa region.

As noted by the prosecutor’s office, the suspect is a former military officer and therefore fully understood the significance and strategic value of the facilities whose locations he disclosed to the Russian side. During his collaboration with the enemy, he allegedly sent more than 40 precise geographic coordinates of various facilities in the Odesa region.
He was particularly interested in port infrastructure and military facilities. The data he transmitted included information on the location of electronic warfare assets, the operation and deployment of air defense systems, the movement of military aircraft, as well as information on units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
In addition, according to the investigation, the man tracked the aftermath of Russian missile and drone attacks on critical and port infrastructure in the region. He also collected information on the movements of naval, civilian, and transport vessels, recording their specifications, routes, and travel times.

The prosecutor’s office believes that the information provided was used by Russian intelligence agencies to analyze the operational situation and prepare new missile and drone strikes against military, transportation, and critical infrastructure in the Odesa region. The pretrial investigation is currently ongoing.
In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine detained eight pro-Kremlin agitators in various regions, one of whom was operating in the Odesa region. The individual in question is a 52-year-old Odesa resident who, on social media, justified Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and supported the enemy’s plans to capture Odesa.
