Today, on September 8, Russians will open 30 additional polling stations in the occupied Crimea on the territory of pre-trial detention centers and medical institutions to hold illegal Russian elections.

This was reported by Krym.Realii with reference to the head of the occupation election commission in Crimea Mikhail Malyshev.

"In total, there are 1129 polling stations in Crimea. Another 30 polling stations will be opened: in the pre-trial detention center and medical institutions - these stations will work only on September 8," Malyshev said.

The publication does not specify in which institutions these polling stations will be opened.

The day before, the Yellow Ribbon movement called on Crimeans to ignore the illegal elections in the annexed Crimean peninsula, which are being held by Russia from September 6 to 8.

"The pseudo-elections held by the occupiers are a fiction, a paper house that will collapse as soon as the Ukrainian state returns to Crimea," the activists added.

Later, they published photos and videos of themselves burning materials with campaigning materials of Russian politicians, which are distributed in Crimea, to vote in the illegal Russian elections on the Crimean peninsula.

"Crimeans have never been and will never be mute puppets in the hands of the Russian occupation administration. Yevpatoria, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai - each of these cities shows the Russians that they are not welcome here and that they are not perceived as a legitimate government," the post reads.

Earlier, artist from Crimea Viktor Chizhov went on a picket to the city's honor board in the center of Sevastopol on Nakhimov Square. He was holding a homemade poster with a skeleton and the inscription "Hand-to-mouth power go away". The picket was timed to coincide with the election campaign and the Russian elections to the local parliament on September 7-8. After a while, the police arrived at the picket site and the artist was detained.
