Water resources and water management
Water resources are natural reserves of water suitable for economic, domestic, and ecological use. On the territory of Ukraine, these include river and lake waters, underground sources, reservoirs, and other hydrological objects. Management of water resources includes issues of water supply to the population, irrigation of agricultural lands, protection of water bodies from pollution and illegal use. Problems of water resources are particularly relevant for the southern regions of Ukraine, where water is a critical resource for economic development and meeting community needs.
