Smuggling and customs violations

Smuggling is the illegal transportation of goods, equipment, weapons, and other items across Ukraine's customs border with the aim of evading duties and control. The phenomenon encompasses various schemes: from importing prohibited items to exporting strategic resources. On Ukraine's southern borders, especially in the ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv, smuggling remains a serious problem that undermines state revenues and national security. The fight against smuggling involves the work of customs authorities, law enforcement, and judicial investigations.
