The city mayor is the chief official of a territorial community of a city in Ukraine, also called a mayor. He is elected by city residents on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage for a term of five years. The city mayor performs executive functions and represents the city in government bodies, manages the work of the city council and its executive committee.
