Land scandals and fraud
Land scandals are cases of illegal disposal of state or municipal land, fraud in the buying and selling of land plots, appropriation of land resources by officials and their relatives, as well as other violations in the sphere of land relations. Such scandals are often associated with corruption in local government bodies, geocadastral services and other institutions that have access to land registries. Investigation of land fraud is an important part of the work of public organizations and journalists who monitor compliance with legislation and transparency in the management of public property.
