Decolonization of Ukraine: Monuments and History
Decolonization is a process of liberation from colonial influence, which in the Ukrainian context encompasses a reinterpretation of historical heritage, dismantling of Soviet and Russian symbols, and renaming of streets and public spaces. This includes the demolition of monuments that symbolize colonial domination and their replacement with symbols of Ukrainian culture and history. Decolonization is an important part of Ukraine's process of national self-determination, particularly relevant in the southern regions of the country.
