Arrests and Detention in Ukraine
Arrest is the detention and holding of a person in custody by decision of law enforcement agencies or a court. It can be either a preventive measure during criminal investigation or a form of criminal punishment. In Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions, arrests are frequently applied in cases involving corruption of officials, abuse of official position, bribery, and other crimes against the state and citizens.
