  • This week in Beijing, figure skaters competed for the last Olympic licenses for the Games to be held in February in Milan and Cortina, Italy. Kherson figure skater Kyrylo Marsak had to get into the top 5 of the men's competition to secure the right to compete at the Olympics. After the short program, Kyrylo was ranked sixth, but his performance in the free skate allowed him to get back at the representative of Monaco and become fifth and get the coveted license.
  • Kyrylo will be the only representative of Ukraine in figure skating - sports and dance pairs did not achieve the desired results in China, and there were no women's singles skaters there at all.

  • The Ukrainian women's tennis team has reached the final stage of the Billie Jean King Cup for the first time . In previous formats of the tournament, the highest achievement was reaching the quarterfinals, where the Ukrainians lost twice to Italy.
  • This time, the team of Spain became the rivals in the quarterfinals. The leaders of the national team, Marta Kostiuk and Elina Svitolina , won their matches, and the doubles match was not needed - Ukraine is in the semifinals for the first time in its history!

  • In the semifinals against Italy , Marta Kostiuk won the first match in two sets, and Svitolina was close to victory, winning the first set and breaking in the second, but the experienced Jasmine Paolini managed to withstand the pressure of the Odessan and take the match to the third set, in which she proved to be stronger. Everything was decided by the doubles game, where the Italians Paolini and Sara Errani were the favorites. In the end, they won, and in the final, Italy defended its title by beating the United States.

  • Alla Belinska is the world champion in wrestling! The Kherson athlete triumphed in the 72 kg weight category. On her way to gold, Belinska defeated rivals from Croatia, France, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. This is Ukraine's first gold medal in women's wrestling since 2018.

  • According to SportArena, former Chornomorets goalkeeper Artur Rudko was detained while trying to illegally leave Ukraine. The crossing was planned on the Transnistrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. Among the detainees were residents of different regions who acted on instructions from a telegram channel. Each had to pay $8,000 in cryptocurrency, and one of the men even provided an advance. It is also reported that Arthur has now been mobilized and is undergoing a pre-combat training program.   • Ukrainian kart racer Lev Krutogolov (son of the famous comedian from Mykolaiv, Yegor Krutogolov ) took third place at the World Karting Championship in the OK class. Krutogolov is the first Ukrainian kart racer to reach the podium of the world championship. He has been invited to the FIA awards ceremony in Paris, which will bring together the world's best drivers in 2025.
