- The World Aquatics Championships were held in Singapore last week. While the performance of Ukrainians in swimming can be called a failure, as not a single athlete made it to the final heats, the results in diving were better. The bronze medalist of last year's championship, Oleksiy Sereda from Mykolaiv , reached the final competition among men on the 10-meter platform.
- According to the results of the final jumps, Oleksiy managed to score 515.2 points. Consistently high scores allowed Sereda to win a silver medal. This is the highest personal achievement of the 19-year-old athlete, who has previously been twice runner-up in synchronized jumping. By the way, Kirill Bolyukh and Stanislav Oliferchik were fourth in this discipline.

- On the evening of August 2, a missile attack by Russian troops severely damaged the Vodoley sports complex in Mykolaiv, one of the main training bases for Ukrainian diving and synchronized swimming teams. The blast wave smashed out windows and covered some of the premises with rubble. Yes, this is the same complex where Oleksiy Sereda, the protagonist of today's digest, started his career in sports. The regional authorities have already assured us that the sports complex will be restored.
As always, we wish you and your favorite athletes and teams success!
