Unmanned aerial vehicle forces struck three radar systems in Crimea

Ukraine’s unmanned aerial vehicle forces carried out a successful strike against the occupiers in annexed Crimea. The military struck three key radar stations.
This was reported by Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”), commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces.
Specifically, the following were destroyed:
- the “Nebo-U” radar station in Sevastopol (operated by the 9th “Kairos” Battalion of the 414th Unmanned Systems Brigade “Madyar’s Birds”);
- the 36D6M radar station near the village of Uytne (20th Unmanned Systems Brigade “K-2”);
- The “ST-68” radar station in the Yevpatoria area (1st Operational Center of the Special Forces);
A radar station is a specialized device for detecting airborne, maritime, or ground-based objects using radio waves. It determines the exact distance to a target, as well as its speed and direction of movement. These systems operate by emitting radio signals and receiving the echoes reflected from the target. RCS are widely used in the military for air defense, as well as in civilian life—in navigation, meteorology, and air traffic control.
Strategic targets were also struck in Russia.In the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, two fighter jets (a Su-33 and a MiG-29) and one “Orion” strike-and-reconnaissance UAV were destroyed. In addition, the Ukrainian military disabled the “Tor” and “Pantsir-S1” missile systems, an S-400 air defense system "Triumph" air defense system in Gelendzhik, and a whole series of radar stations that helped the enemy "see" our skies.
On August 22, Ukrainian defenders launched another strike against occupied Crimea. A Russian Su-24M combat aircraft and four pieces of airfield equipment were destroyed at theSaki airfield.
Six ground-based repeaters used to control “Geran”/“Gerbera”-type attack drones were also destroyed. Tworepeaterswere destroyed in the Steregushche area, three near Olenivka, and another in the Chornomorsk area.
