On the night of July 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck "Chornomornaftogaz" (Autonomous Republic of Crimea) and a relay station used to control "Geran"/"Gerbera"-type strike UAVs in the Chornomorsk area (Autonomous Republic of Crimea).
This was reported by Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesperson for the “Pivden” Operational Command.
Russia seized “Chornomornaftogaz” following the temporary occupation of Crimea and used it for the extraction, storage, and transportation of natural gas and petroleum products, as well as to meet the fuel and energy needs of the Russian occupation forces on the peninsula.
The occupiers used the destroyed relay station to increase the range, stability, and control quality of the attack drones used by the enemy to carry out attacks on Ukrainian territory.
Earlier, it was reported that a warehouse belonging to the Russian company Wildberries caught fire in Simferopol following the explosions. A local thermal power plant may also have been hit.
Wildberries confirmed the evacuation of employees from its sorting center in occupied Simferopol following the nighttime attack.
Additionally, according to the “Crimean Wind” monitoring group, a fire was reported at the 110/35/6–10 kV “NS-16” substation, located between the villages of Novopokrovka and Vladislavivka inCrimea.
It is known that the cities of Yevpatoria and Saki are completely without power. Rolling blackouts have been implemented in Sevastopol. Interruptions in the water supply have been reported.
