Trains bound for Odesa are delayed by eight hours due to enemy attacks

Due to Russian attacks, trains to and from Odesa are running more than eight hours late. Where the security situation allows, train service continues.

This information is posted on the official Ukrzaliznytsia information portal. 

The carrier noted that the situation may change and delays may be reduced. Therefore, passengers should monitor push notifications in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, listen to the announcer’s messages, and check the information boards at the station. 

Ukrzaliznytsia also reported that for trains delayed by 5+ hours due to the attacks, meals have been organized for passengers and railway workers at one of the intermediate stations in collaboration with World Central Kitchen. 

The company has opened its paid waiting rooms free of charge for those waiting for their trains. 

Earlier, rail service between Mykolaiv and Kherson was temporarily suspended due to an increased threat of Russian shelling.

On August 23, in the Odesa region, a Russian attack drone struckthe locomotiveof passenger train No. 147 traveling from Zhytomyr to Odesa. Before the attack, the Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team issued an evacuation order in advance, and the train was urgently stopped on the tracks.

Earlier, in the Odesa region,thelocomotivecrewwas killed instantly when a passenger train was struck by a precision-guided rocket; passengers and the train crew were evacuated.
