Russian military equipment, which was captured on video during the "ceasefire" in the Kherson region, was used to clear the area of mines.
This was stated at a press conference by Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada’s Human Rights Commissioner, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
According to the ombudsman, the ban on the deployment and movement of military equipment was specifically stipulated in the document by both sides. After the video showing Russian equipment surfaced, Lubinets personally reviewed the footage and immediately contacted the relevant officials.
He explained that the video showed equipment marked with red crosses, which was used for demining operations under Ukrainian supervision. After the work was completed, the equipment was returned to its previous positions. According to Lubinets, representatives of both sides confirmed this.

The Ombudsman also explained why those evacuated from Oleshky were not transported directly to Kherson. The route was planned based on information from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Lubinec emphasized that a direct route from Oleshky to Kherson was not considered because it would have crossed the front line. According to him, the Ukrainian side was warned against supporting such a proposal and could not agree to it.
