In the morning, the enemy attacked the port of Greater Odesa and hit a civilian vessel flying the flag of the Cook Islands.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The vessel was damaged, but the crew was not injured.
"Another attack on civilian shipping. The port operates with due regard for security risks, and the relevant services are eliminating the consequences," the USPA said.
The Cook Islands are an archipelago and a state entity of the same name in free association with New Zealand in the South Pacific Ocean in Polynesia. It borders the territorial waters of Kiribati, French Polynesia, Niue, American Samoa, and Tokelau. The territory includes 15 islands, 3 of which have no permanent residents. Of these, 6 are in the Northern Group and 9 are in the Southern Group. The land area is 236.7 square kilometers. The population is 17 thousand 564 people. The capital is the city of Avarua on the island of Rarotonga.
On the night of April 27, the Russians once again attacked the port infrastructure of Greater Odesa and the facilities that ensure the operation of the Ukrainian Sea Corridor. The ship sustained minor damage, but a fire broke out on board, which was extinguished by the crew.
On April 26, as a result of a Russian attack in Odesa region, a drone was seen hitting a civilian vessel flying the Palauan flag as it was loading in the port of Chornomorsk.
On April 25, a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag was damaged in the port of Reni during a regional attack.
The vessel was leaving the port when it was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles. A fire broke out on board, which the crew quickly extinguished on their own. The vessel remained seaworthy and is heading to its destination port. Another vessel was damaged in the port itself.
