Police officers and a Security Service of Ukraine officer detained two men from Podil district in Odesa region on suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of men who are prohibited from leaving the country during martial law outside official checkpoints.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region, two transactions of the detainees were documented.

The 21-year-old suspect transported a client to Moldova for a reward of seven thousand dollars. The young man asked for two thousand from the intermediary in advance, and the rest - five thousand - was to be received directly from the client when he crossed the border. After the defendant from Odesa sent the client on a trip by car and received part of the money from the intermediary, he and the others were detained.

The 52-year-old detainee was a mechanic-driver of a sanitary transport fleet of a municipal medical enterprise. He used an official ambulance and a medical worker's uniform for his illegal activities. The dealer transported a client to Moldova for a reward of six thousand dollars. He picked him up in Podilsk, dressed him in a medical worker's uniform and put him behind the wheel of the ambulance. On the way, the organizer received a part of the reward in the amount of five thousand dollars, after which he was detained.

Thecourt imposed on the suspects a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with the right to be released on bail. If found guilty, the men face imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
