In Mykolaiv, there is a wounded man and destruction after a Shahedi attack

Over the past day, a new wave of hostile attacks by Shahed-type kamikaze drones was recorded in Mykolaiv and the region.

As of 07:00 on May 1, energy and critical infrastructure facilities were under attack, said Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. Power engineers are currently working around the clock to restore the damaged networks.

Three people were injured in Mykolaiv as a result of the attack and falling debris:

  • A 35-year-old man received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized
  • His condition is stable, without deterioration
  • two women suffered an acute stress reaction and were treated on the spot

Significant destruction was also recorded:

  • 5 multi-storey buildings were damaged
  • 2 private houses were destroyed
  • 6 cars were damaged

The impacts caused several fires that were quickly extinguished by rescuers.

In addition, the enemy attacked Ochakivska and Kutsurubska communities six times with FPV drones in Mykolaiv district. In the village of Dmytrivka, the roof of a private house was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

As a reminder, as a result of the latest hostile attacks, a new regime of power outages was introduced in Mykolaiv district of Mykolaiv region due to limited capacity of the power grids.

In addition, on the morning of April 16, Russian troops struck at the energy infrastructure of Mykolaiv region, which led to large-scale power outages.

Earlier, Intent wrote that on March 18, hourly blackouts were introduced in Mykolaiv amid an emergency in the power system.

The morning attack of Russian troops on Mykolaiv on February 22 damaged energy infrastructure facilities. The occupiers used Shahed attack drones, which led to large-scale blackouts in the city.

According to preliminary data, about 16,000 customers were left without electricity. Work is currently underway to eliminate the effects of the shelling and restore power.
