Last week, Russian troops attempted to attack the Antonivsky road and railroad bridges in Kherson region more than 25 times, as well as to land on the islands at the mouth of the Dnipro River.
This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, on the air of the United News telethon.
According to him, the occupiers made 25 to 30 assault attempts in the direction of Antonivsky bridges during the week. In addition, the Russian military tried to land on the islands of Bilohrudy, Nestryga and Milky.
At the same time, no combat actions were recorded on the islands at the mouth of the Dnipro over the past day. The spokesperson suggested that this may be due to the regrouping of Russian army forces and equipment.
Despite this, Russian troops continue to conduct aerial reconnaissance and attack Ukrainian positions with drones and aircraft.
"We anticipate that the enemy will not calm down, but will continue attempts to land and seize control of some islands," noted Vladyslav Voloshyn.
He added that the Ukrainian military is ready to destroy the occupiers in case of new landing attempts.
As a reminder, yesterday Russian troops massively attacked Kherson region with drones, aircraft and artillery. One person was killed and 15 other residents of the region were injured, including two small children.
Recently, Intent wrote that Russian troops have used more than 12,000 drones in the Kherson region since the beginning of May. The biggest threat to Ukrainian defenders today is the attack drones, which the enemy is using en masse.
In addition, in Kherson, Russian troops launched an artillery strike on May 24 on the territory of a market in the Dniprovsky district of the city. The attack killed two people and injured seven other civilians.
On May 14, in the Korabelny district of Kherson, Russian military personnel attacked UN humanitarian mission vehicles with a drone. The attack took place despite international norms that prohibit the shelling of humanitarian missions and civilian vehicles used to help the population.
