Occupants attack Kherson market: two dead and seven wounded

In Kherson, Russian troops launched an artillery attack on May 24 on the territory of a market in the Dniprovsky district of the city. The attack killed two people and injured seven other civilians.
According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the shelling took place around 10:45 a.m. One of the city's markets, where civilians were at the time, came under fire from Russian artillery.
Two men were killed in the attack. Seven people were also injured. Doctors diagnosed the victims with mine-blast injuries, shrapnel wounds and acubarotrauma. Some people were treated on the spot, others were hospitalized.
After the attack, emergency services, medics and law enforcement officers worked on the market. Investigators are recording the consequences of the shelling and collecting evidence of another war crime committed by the Russian military against civilians.
Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the laws and customs of war, which led to the death of people.
Prosecutors, together with police investigators, continue to document the consequences of the Russian attack and establish all the circumstances of the shelling.
Yesterday, Russian troops massively attacked Kherson region with drones, aircraft and artillery. Kherson and 30 other settlements in the region were hit, killing one person and injuring 11 others.
Recently, Russian troops shelled a church and a police checkpoint in Kherson region.
On May 21, ten people were injured as a result of Russian aggression. In addition, the shelling damaged two high-rise buildings and six private houses. The occupiers also damaged a cell tower, a production workshop, a private garage and the cars of local residents.
As a reminder, on May 14, in the Korabelny district of Kherson, Russian military attacked the vehicles of the UN humanitarian mission from a drone. The attack took place despite international norms that prohibit the shelling of humanitarian missions and civilian vehicles used to help the population.
The occupiers also dropped explosives from a drone on a street in Kherson. A 68-year-old local resident was hit. The woman died on the spot from her injuries.
