Schools in Crimea are scheduled to open on September 1, as the lack of stable internet access makes it impossible to organize high-quality distance learning. Under the special educational regime, meals for elementary school students and children from eligible groups will be provided in the form of dry rations.
This was reported by Krym.Realii.
Under these conditions, class periods are scheduled to be reduced to 30 minutes, and children will spend no more than four hours a day at school.
Schools have also designated evacuation sites for children in the event of a drone attack threat, and staff and security personnel have been provided with protocols for responding to various emergency situations. However, there is no single template for all schools. Teaching models are adapted to the situation in each specific district and city.
Earlier,Serhiy Danilov, deputy director of the Ukrainian Center for Middle Eastern Studies, noted thatpeople are leaving Crimea because they lack information about what the situation will be like during the fall and winter. Currently, according to local residents, authorities in northern Crimea are attempting to provide electricity for one hour a day, but the voltage is so low that even electric kettles do not work.
Widespread problems in the energy sector in annexed Crimea began in July, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces intensified strikes on local energy facilities in response to Russia’s actions. Some settlements on the peninsula were left without power forseveral days.
In Sevastopol, strict power-outage schedules havebeen implemented. Local consumers are now on a schedule of six hours without power followed by two hours with power. Residents were told that due to a significant power shortage in Crimea’s power grid, it has become impossible to adhere to the previous “3 on, 3 off” schedule.
