During the six-day humanitarian pause, 173 people—including 21 children and 24 people with limited mobility—were evacuated from communities at risk on the right bank of the Kherson region. People were evacuated from settlements that are regularly subjected to Russian shelling and drone attacks.

This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration .

The evacuation took place from October 27 to November 1. During this time, people were evacuated from 24 settlements in the region, including Beryslav, Novoberyslav, Dudchany, Novokair, Mylove, Novovorontsovka, Stanislav, Shiroka Balka, Kherson, Antonivka, Kozatske, and Vesele.

According to Prokudin, the ceasefire was successfully utilized to evacuate residents of communities that had previously been virtually inaccessible due to intense Russian shelling and roadblocks.

Among those evacuated were 21 children. Specifically, three children were evacuated from Stanislav, and two more from Beryslav. Both settlements are regularly subjected to Russian shelling. Currently, there are no minors left in these communities.

In addition, 24 people with limited mobility were evacuated from the dangerous areas. Most of the evacuees traveled to relatives in other regions of Ukraine or to safer areas of the Kherson region. People who require medical care and constant supervision have been temporarily housed in healthcare facilities.

The regional military administration assured that the evacuees will be provided with the necessary medical, social, and humanitarian assistance.

Earlier, U.S. First Lady Melania Trump stated that she had brokered a local ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia in Oleshky, Kherson Oblast. According to the White House, the local ceasefire is set to begin on October 29, 2026.
