Ukrainian defenders carried out their second large-scale humanitarian mission in occupied Oleshky. They used heavy UAVs to deliver six metric tons of food supplies across the Dnipro River to local residents.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
In addition, the soldiers rescued six cats from the temporarily occupied city. To do this, they used drones to drop special carriers into Oleshky in advance. The animals are now on the right bank. They are safe, well-fed, and under the care of veterinarians.
Oleksandr Prokudin noted that all operations are planned with the technical capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles in mind. The soldiers also strive to make the most of each flight. This time, they were able to transport the animals to a safe location.
Food for the residents of Oleshky was collected by partners and volunteers. The food delivery operation was carried out by soldiers from the 30th Marine Corps Corps, the 34th “Borysfen” Marine Brigade, the “Bolgarichi” unit the 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 34th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, and the 79th Border Guard Detachment.
In September, the Ukrainian military also carried out an operation to deliver food to civilians in the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky. Using drones, approximately 4,000 kilograms of food were dropped directly onto 100 designated locations throughout the city.
Food has been delivered to Oleshky in this manner since March. The drones fly into the occupied city across the Dnipro River. Meanwhile, the Russians are constantly trying to disrupt the aid efforts. They shoot down drones carrying provisions, confiscate or resell food intended for children and the elderly. For receiving humanitarian packages, the occupiers detain Oleshky residents, throw them “into the basement,” brutally beat them, and resort to violence.
