Russian propagandists tried to present the results of an operation conducted by the Main Intelligence Directorate in Leningrad Oblast as an attack on a railway in Odesa Oblast, allegedly carried out by some pro-Russian partisans.
A photo of a train that had apparently crashed was recently posted on Russian social media with the caption that a pro-Russian guerrilla movement was gaining momentum in Ukraine and that it was these guerrillas who had blown up the tracks in Odesa region, Ukrinform reported .
The Russians claimed that the train was allegedly carrying Western military aid and fuel for Ukraine.

However, journalists found out that the photo was taken in mid-September in the Leningrad region of Russia. It shows the aftermath of an operation to destroy Russian railroad infrastructure, which was carried out by the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces. The train was blown up in the Luhansk region near the Nizovskaya station.
Sources in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine told Ukrinform that the attack was carried out on the night of September 14: around 2:30 a.m., the St. Petersburg-Pskov railroad was blown up on the Stroganovo-Mshynska stretch. As a result of the attack, a locomotive derailed and 15 fuel tanks with fuel were destroyed.
In August, Russian propagandists spread disinformation about a 'retaliation operation' in Odesa, aimed at Ukrainian police officers. The reports, accompanied by fake photos and videos, claimed that the operation killed a conscript and one of the law enforcement officers allegedly involved in 'forced mobilization'.
Disinformation about the 'retribution operation' comes from the 'Odesa Partisan' telegram channel, which is moderated from the territory of the Russian Federation. This channel is part of a wide network of z-telegram channels created to spread anti-Ukrainian disinformation.
