About 115 Ukrainian drones attacked Russia and occupied Crimea on the night of September 22, causing explosions and fires in several regions. The targets included a sanatorium on the southern coast of Crimea, where high-ranking officials could have been staying, and Russian amphibious aircraft were hit for the first time in history.
According to the press service of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, on September 21, 2025, the "Phantoms" special forces conducted an operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The strike destroyed two rare Be-12 Chaika amphibious anti-submarine aircraft - the first time in history that this type of aircraft has been destroyed. In addition, a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed.
According to Channel 24, nearly 115 drones attacked Russia. On the night of September 22, drones struck 11 regions of Russia, including the occupied Crimea. Explosions and fires were reported in several regions. Residents of the annexed peninsula were the first to report drone attacks. According to them, at around 19:30, drones began firing on the southern coast of Crimea, in particular in the area of Foros, a village near Yalta.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck several facilities of the Foros sanatorium, there are injured and dead. The sanatorium is known as an elite vacation spot - back in Soviet times, military and government officials used to vacation there. On September 21, in the evening, the resort's restaurant was closed for special service, so there were speculations online that "important guests" might have been there.
In addition, the Crimean Wind resource reported that the outbreak of dry grass in Yalta was caused by falling drone debris. There are four state dachas between Foros and Yalta, where the political elite traditionally visit. According to an investigation by Project, Putin occupied the sixth and eighth dachas, but it is claimed that he was not there, and only Russian officials could have been present.
At the end of August, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed an enemy drone base at an airfield in Sevastopol. The Ukrainian military eliminated five UAVs that Russia used to monitor the Black Sea and adjust artillery. The destroyed drones include up to three Mohajer-6s and two Forposts, which were used to monitor the Black Sea.
