Law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a 48-year-old resident of Pervomaiskyi district who systematically published materials on her social media pages justifying, denying and recognizing the legitimacy of the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Main Police Department in Mykolaiv region.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the defendant systematically used her own social media accounts to disseminate posts. These materials contained justifications and denials of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014, as well as recognition of its legitimacy and glorification of the participants in the aggression.

During an authorized search at the woman's place of residence, law enforcement officers seized prohibited literature and a mobile phone used for publications.

Currently, investigators have served the offender a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Justification, recognition as lawful, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation). The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of up to eight years in prison.

The issue of choosing a type of detention is currently being decided. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, a deputy of the Genichesk City Council was suspected of high treason for cooperating with the occupiers and doing business under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. He headed a sanatorium where Russian military and security forces were stationed and supported propaganda activities in favor of the aggressor.

In absentia, the deputy of the Genichesk City Council was served a notice of suspicion of high treason and conducting business activities in cooperation with the aggressor state. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural guidance in the case.
