Pseudo-deputy from Kherson region to appear in court

In September 2023, a woman took part in illegal elections held on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region and was elected asa "deputy" from a political party of the aggressor state.
According to the Kherson regional police, in September 2023, a 60-year-old native of Henichesk voluntarily decided to participate in the illegal elections and registered under the number "5" as a "candidate for deputy" to the "Kherson Regional Duma of the first convocation" from the local branch of the political party of the aggressor state, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. Later, she was elected as a deputy of the "council of deputies of the Kakhovka municipal district of the first convocation" on the list of the political party.
Law enforcement officers also found that on September 19, 2023, the first meeting of the pseudo-council took place, at which the suspect was elected a "member" of the "Standing Committee on Budgetary Issues, Economy and Investments" of the "Council of Deputies of the First Convocation of the Municipal Entity - Kakhovka Municipal District".
The pre-trial investigation has now been completed and the indictment has been sent to court. The defendant may face 15 years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years and with or without confiscation of property.
Prior to that, under the procedural supervision of the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, indictments were sent to court against three residents of the region on the fact of collaboration. Earlier, three residents of the Kherson region who helped Russians to hold an illegal referendum were sentenced to ten years in prison with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the electoral process for fifteen years. The Kherson court also found a local resident guilty of collaborating with the occupiers during the pseudo-referendum in Kherson region. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
