Odesa Region Offers Support for Shelling Victims - How to Apply

In the Odesa region, assistance is being provided to citizens whose homes were destroyed by shelling.

Intent.Insight discussed the mechanism of obtaining support with Ivan Stulnyk, shelter specialist of the emergency response department of the NGO "Tenth of April".

Who helps and how to apply?

The process of assistance is coordinated through the emergency response headquarters, which cooperates with local authorities. Specialists immediately receive information about the consequences of the hits and formulate an assistance plan.

"We go to the site and provide the victims with everything they need. If 10-20 windows are destroyed, a person receives materials for that amount," he explained.

In most cases, the specialists trust the applicants. However, in the case of large requests, an additional on-site check may be carried out.

"We ask the person a few questions, analyze the situation and decide on the amount of assistance. If there is a need, we go to the site for an assessment," he explained.

In addition to repairing damaged housing, teams are working in the region to provide temporary accommodation for internally displaced people.

Special teams are working not only in Odesa and the region, but also in the south of Ukraine to respond promptly to citizens' requests and provide the necessary assistance.

"We have teams in every region of southern Ukraine. Also, if we are speaking for Kherson, there is a team in Kherson that deals with the same issues that we deal with in Odesa," the source said.

On the night of April 1 and 2, Russian troops attacked Odesa region with the help of attack drones. The shelling damaged residential and municipal facilities in the villages of Khlibodarske and Radisne.

Earlier, Intent reported a fire, damage to houses and one injured person as a result of Russian air strikes in Odesa region on March 28. On the night of March 21, the enemy also attacked Odesa and the region with attack drones. Three people were injured, including minors.
