Occupants confiscated property of Crimean provider for helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The occupation authorities of Crimea confiscated the property of a local Internet provider, accusing the son of its founder of "pro-Ukrainian comments" on the network. The formal reason was allegedly his posts in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and cryptocurrency transfers.

The Kremlin-controlled administration of Sevastopol announced the "nationalization" of movable and immovable property of the Sevstar Internet provider, as well as companies and individuals associated with this business. The formal reason was the alleged "pro-Ukrainian position" of the son of the company's founder.
According to him, Oleksii Kontsebovskyi, the son of Larysa Kontsebovska, who owns more than 71% of the authorized capital of Sevstar MT LLC, is allegedly a member of "pro-Ukrainian" telegram channels and regularly publishes comments in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The occupiers interpret this as "discrediting" the Russian army. In addition, he is accused of "assisting" Ukrainian military intelligence and transferring cryptocurrency to "foreign special services."
According to human rights activists from CrimeaSOS, in 2022-2024 alone, the occupation authorities of Crimea transferred approximately 3,500 private property objects to state ownership. The total value of the property nationalized in Sevastopol reaches 6 billion Russian rubles.
Among the largest enterprises that have already been taken away from their owners are Sevastopolgaz, the Mayak ship lighting plant, Plosk and Tinos, the Technotron maintenance company, Technical Operation Center No. 1, and the Korpus production cooperative.
Ukraine and its international partners consider such actions to be an illegal appropriation of property that contravenes international law. Kyiv has repeatedly stated that after the de-occupation of the peninsula, all decisions on "nationalization" will be canceled and the property will be returned to its rightful owners.
In the first six months of 2025, the occupation authorities sold 25 confiscated properties, receiving more than 2.2 billion rubles, which were allegedly used to develop Crimea and support the participants in the war against Ukraine.
