A Mykolaiv pensioner who corresponded with representatives of Russian special services was found guilty and sentenced to 6 years in prison.

This was reported by the Korabelnyi District Court of Mykolaiv. The man was found guilty of passing information about the Ukrainian military and their location in the city to the enemy.

According to the case file, between November 2024 and February 2025, he actively sent information on the movements and locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mykolaiv via Telegram.

The recorded episodes include the transmission of data on the location of the military on the territory of Higher Vocational School No. 7 on November 4, 2024, and a message on February 7, 2025, about the movement of armored vehicles "Kozak" near the "Vodoley" swimming pool.

For this activity, which is a direct assistance to the enemy in adjusting fire, the court, in addition to imprisonment, also ordered the confiscation of his equipment and ordered him to reimburse the state 4400 UAH for the examination.

Also in Mykolaiv, a court sentenced a 53-year-old local resident who was engaged in pro-Russian propaganda on the Internet to five years in prison.

The offender, who was detained in May 2025, was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the man published hostile content in comments on Telegram channels using an anonymous account for conspiracy, but SBU cyber specialists identified him anyway.

The main aggravating circumstance was that the man had already been sentenced for spreading pro-Kremlin propaganda, but did not reform and repeated the crime during his probationary period.
