The Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odesa Oblast found a serviceman, a native of Budyliv village, Kozivskyi district, Ternopil Oblast, guilty of forgery and sentenced him to a fine of UAH 17,000.

According to the court's verdict, in early January 2024, in connection with the general mobilization in Ukraine, the convicted person decided to produce forged documents, namely a temporary certificate of a person liable for military service and a certificate of the military medical commission in his name, in order to move freely through the territory of Ukraine, including through checkpoints where military records are checked.

To do this, he found an advertisement on the Internet with a contact phone number unidentified during the pre-trial investigation, offering to sell three clichés for 3,000 hryvnias with the following images: a round stamp, a rectangular stamp "Registered for military service", a rectangular stamp with a reference to a paragraph and part of Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine "On mobilization preparation and mobilization".

Having bought the cliché, he used a printer to produce the documents and tried to pass through the Mayaky-Udobne-Palanka checkpoint. The defendant unequivocally admitted his guilt. The guilty plea and sincere repentance were recognized as mitigating circumstances.

Earlier, the Prymorskyi Court of Odesa sentenced the serviceman to 15 years in prison for high treason. The information he passed to the Russian concerned the location of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, which could have harmed the defense and state security of Ukraine.
