Serhiy Tsygipa, a public activist from Kherson illegally convicted by the occupiers, was transported from a colony in Skopin, Ryazan region, to Moscow. A cassation court hearing on his case is to be held there soon.
According to ZMINA, this was reported by Serhiy's wife, Olena Tsygipa. According to her, Serhiy is currently being held in the Moscow Detention Center #4 in Medvedkovo. She adds that neither she nor her husband has any hope that the appeal can change anything for the better.
"But this is all necessary so that they understand that the family is fighting for Sergiy and we continue to do everything we can. He sends his greetings and gratitude to those who supported him and me and continue to support him," says Tsygipa.
Serhiy also asks Olena to write to him more about their shared memories, plans for the future, books, etc. According to him, this helps him to distract from the horrific realities of his Russian captivity and to imagine himself surrounded by his family. Tsygipa urged everyone to join her and write letters to her husband. However, she reminds that the authors of the letters should be aware of the Russian censorship that all their correspondence is subject to.
"Anyone who wants to support him, write a letter to me in any messenger, I will forward it. Our letters are censored, so you can write about everything except war and politics," the activist said.
Earlier, the CTRC published a full list of elderly people enslaved by the occupation authorities of Crimea. According to their data, 17 political prisoners over the age of 60 are being held in the colonies and pre-trial detention centers of the occupied Crimea. Most of them have been sentenced to 5 to 18 years in prison. Among them is Serhiy Tsyhypa, a journalist and writer from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region.
The Center called on Russia to immediately release all of the above-mentioned people and other political prisoners, as well as to stop systematically violating human rights in Crimea.
