This section is dedicated to the topic of detention of persons in places of deprivation of liberty, including political prisoners, prisoners of conscience, and persons held without legal grounds. Materials are published here about the unlawful imprisonment of Ukrainians by occupying authorities, conditions of detention in prisons and pre-trial detention facilities, persecution of activists, journalists, and representatives of religious minorities. The section covers violations of human rights and international humanitarian law regarding prisoners.
