In 2021, the Ukrainian woman agreed to work at the occupation "Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education" (CRIPPE) and was appointed to the position of "Head of the Department of Philology".
According to the prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, during 2022-2024, the woman was directly involved in holding conferences and seminars on the implementation of Russian education standards for teaching Russian in Crimean educational institutions. In addition, she, as part of the author's team of the so-called "Krippo", developed a number of textbooks and manuals on the Russian language for students in grades 5-11 in accordance with the standards of the aggressor state.
In addition, in May 2024, the "educator" took part in a press conference "Russian Language in Crimea: Initiatives and Prospects of Russianists", which took place in Simferopol in the studio of the propaganda TV channel "Ria Novosti Crimea". At this event, she spoke about the development of these textbooks and called on teachers, students and parents to use them in the educational process.
According to Russian resources, we are talking about Maria Markina-Gurdzhi. By her actions, she assists the occupying state in destroying the Ukrainian identity of Crimean schoolchildren and purposefully imposing the Russian language in educational institutions on the peninsula. Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomy, the woman was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration. The sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years in prison with deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.
Earlier, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a colleague of Maria Markina-Gurdzha, a "methodologist of the Russian philology department of the center of philological education" who also works for the occupation "Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education". During 2022-2023, this Ukrainian woman spoke at seminars and forums, outlining the requirements and features of the implementation of the "federal state educational standard" in general education institutions of the Crimean peninsula.
