During the occupation of Kherson, a 48-year-old resident of Kherson voluntarily agreed to take the position of "head of a preschool education institution" offered to her by the occupation authorities of the city.
According to Alyona Kmet, deputy head of the police unit, the operatives found out that the suspect voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities in the second half of July. The offender took the position of the pseudo-head of the "Antonov Kindergarten No. 26 in the city of Kherson".
During the investigative and search operations, the police, including using the capabilities of analysts from the regional headquarters, found that the suspect headed an illegal preschool education institution before the de-occupation of the city. In her pseudo-position, she carried out organizational, administrative and economic functions aimed at implementing the educational standards of the aggressor state. In particular, the "head" reflected the job responsibilities of educators in the corner stand in accordance with Russian standards, took measures to admit students to the "kindergarten" and ensured that they began their education in accordance with the education standards of the aggressor state. The defendant also set up a stand in which she organized the placement of books published by Moskva Publishing House and Russian symbols.
Investigators qualified the Kherson resident's anti-Ukrainian actions as collaboration. At present, in agreement with the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, she has been notified of suspicion in absentia. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspect faces up to three years in prison.
Earlier, 63-year-old Larysa Soroka, a kindergarten teacher from Nova Zburyivka in the Holoprystan community of Skadovsk district in Kherson region, who headed the Malyutka kindergarten illegally created by the occupiers and was engaged in fostering hatred of Ukraine and Ukrainians among children, was sentenced by a court to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Law enforcement officersalso served a notice of suspicion in absentia to a 42-year-old resident of Kherson who voluntarily agreed to head a department of one of the faculties of the Russian-occupied Kherson National Technical University. In addition, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a teacher of the Russian-seizedKherson Agricultural University who was implementing Russian education standards at the seized university. An educator who implemented Russian education standards at the occupied Kherson National Technical University will also be tried.
