Since September 2013, the accused worked as the head of the public security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Sevastopol. However, after the occupation of the peninsula, he betrayed his oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine and went over to the enemy.
According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the ex-military man voluntarily took the position of "Deputy Chief of Police (for Public Order Protection) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Sevastopol" under the Russians. Subsequently, in 2019, he was elected on the list of the Sevastopol city branch of the political Liberal Democratic Party of Russia as an occupation deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol of the II convocation, where he continues to operate to the detriment of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
By his actions, the accused contributed to the creation and functioning of the occupation bodies of internal affairs on the peninsula, as well as assisted representatives of the aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomy submitted to the court an indictment against the occupation deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol of the II convocation. His actions are qualified as high treason. The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years in prison.
Earlier, prosecutors completed an investigation against the head of the occupation administration of the village of Ingulets and the so-called "deputy" occupation head of Henichesk in Kherson region. The men face up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings against two pseudo-deputies - the notorious mayor of Kakhovka Pavlo Filipchuk and Andriy Kharytonov - who were elected as so-called "deputies" from the aggressor state'sUnited Russia political party, was also completed, and the indictments were sent to court.
