Day of Mourning declared in Kherson region

On October 2, a day of mourning was declared in the Kherson region due to the Russian attack on the center of Kherson, which killed six residents.

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin, on October 1, Antonivka, Stanislav, Velytenske, Shyroka Balka, Tokarivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Kizomys, Darivka, Tomyna Balka, Pervomaiske, Beryslav, Sablukivka, and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire and air strikes by the Russian occupation army in the Kherson region.
The official's post says that during the shelling of the region, the Russian occupiers hit an educational institution, a pharmacy, a church; residential areas of the region's settlements, including a high-rise building and 20 private houses. The invaders also damaged a gas pipeline, an outbuilding and a private car.

On that day, six people were killed and 11 others were injured as a result of Russian aggression. Thus, on October 1, 2024, at about 9:00, Russian troops allegedly attacked the center of Kherson with cannon artillery. The shelling took place near a local market and a public transportation stop. The shelling killed six citizens. Doctors managed to stabilize the seventh person, who was presumed dead, but his condition remains extremely serious. As of 11:00 a.m., six civilians were reported to have sustained injuries of varying degrees, five of them were hospitalized.
The occupants insidiously and brutally ended the lives of six elderly Kherson residents who came to the market to shop. A day of mourning has been declared in Kherson Oblast on October 2 in connection with this crime. The region will honor the memory of those innocently killed by Russian terrorists.
Earlier it was reported that on September 30, the enemy launched two missile attacks on the Beryslav district.
