By regaining control over Boyko's towers, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have deprived the Russian occupiers of the ability to monitor the surface situation.
This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, on the air of the national telethon "United News".
According to her, Ukraine's control over the towers also prevents the occupiers from deploying other technical means.

"We have deprived the Russian occupiers of the ability to observe the surface situation, to expose it, deprived them of surveillance equipment, the ability not only to see, but also to direct and deploy other technical base," said Humeniuk.
The spokeswoman emphasized that now it is also a powerful moral and psychological signal that emphasizes the advancement of the Defense Forces even on water.
It is known that Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has regained control of the so-called"Boyko towers".
In general, the Boyko Rigs are gas and oil drilling platforms off the coast of Crimea in the Black Sea.
After the occupation of Crimea, Russia occupied them in 2015, and with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, used them for military purposes. In particular, as helicopter landing sites and for the deployment of radar equipment.
It is reported that a unique operation to establish control over the Boyko towers was carried out by the units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. In particular, the Petro Godovalets and Ukraina drilling platforms, as well as the Tavrida and Syvash submersible drilling platforms, were returned to control.
It is also known that near Zmeinyi Island in Odesa region, the air defense forces destroyed a Russian reconnaissance UAV "Forpost".
It is capable not only of conducting reconnaissance but also of illuminating targets with a laser for precision munitions.
The drone is equipped with one electro-optical and one infrared camera for tracking and surveillance, which makes it possible to use it around the clock.
"The Forpost can stay in flight for about 18 hours and cover up to 250 km, and in the upgraded version up to 350 km.
After the upgrade, this type of UAV also has an updated communication channel, and the development of suspended containers with additional systems, including a radar for detecting targets on land, a radio reconnaissance complex, and signal relay, has been announced.
Thus, the Forpost is a multifunctional drone that costs about six million dollars.
