Trams and trolleybuses have returned to the streets of Odessa on a limited basis

After a few days of forced suspension, the city’s electric public transit resumed operations in Odesa on September 5.

According to the Odesa City Council, trams and trolleybuses have returned to their routes, though they are currently operating on a limited schedule.

The service interval for public transit is currently between 10 and 20 minutes.

Public transit had been suspended in Odesa since September 2 due to a power shortage following a nighttime attack on the city’s energy infrastructure.

  • No. 18 — Kulikovo Field — Memorial to the 411th Battery;
  • No. 20 — Kherson Square — Khadzhibey Estuary;

Following a massive nighttime attack on Odesa on September 2, residential buildings, cars, offices, and two educational institutions were damaged in the city. At least eight people were injured, including a child. Two of the injured were hospitalized.

The municipal enterprise "Odessmiskelektrotrans" reported that the complete shutdown of public transit was due specifically to a power outage following the attack.
