About 20 settlements on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region have been without water, gas, and electricity for a long time. The most dire humanitarian situation is in the communities near the Dnipro River and the front line.

This was stated in an interview by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the settlements where the situation is particularly critical include Stara Zburivka, Nova Zburivka, Hola Prystan, and Kardashynka. This also includes areas along the Dnipro River toward the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and the city of Kakhovka itself.

Prokudin noted that these settlements were severely affected after the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant was blown up and the surrounding areas were flooded. Currently, people there have been living without basic utilities for a long time.

The head of the Regional Military Administration believes that the experience gained from the humanitarian mission to evacuate residents of Oleshky can be used to help people in other settlements. According to him, in the event of a full-scale ceasefire, the possibility of conducting similar humanitarian operations should be considered.

Prokudin emphasized that, first and foremost, efforts must focus on the settlements where the humanitarian situation is most critical.

On October 30, a Ukrainian delegation led by Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada’s Commissioner for Human Rights, arrived in the occupied city. People who wanted to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine were given that opportunity.

That day, two convoys departed from Oleshky: one headed for Ukraine, the other for Russia. Residents of the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky on the left bank of the Kherson region who chose to evacuate to Russia were housed at a health resort in the Krasnodar Krai.
