In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, the water supply situation is deteriorating, and local residents are increasingly discussing potential problems with food, fuel, and medical care.
Kherson-based journalist Oleg Baturin wrote about this on Facebook, commenting on a statement by the occupying authorities regarding worsening water supply problems in the Kakhovka community.
According to him, the Russian occupiers are effectively acknowledging the worsening water situation but are not offering any effective solutions to the problem. At the same time, residents of the temporarily occupied territories should already be thinking about how to act in the event of a complete lack of water, electricity, gas, or transportation.
Baturin also drew attention to the risks associated with accessing medical care. He noted that if logistics continue to deteriorate, it will become increasingly difficult for residents of the occupied Kherson region to reach hospitals in Crimea or on Russian territory.
The journalist identified the situation in the agricultural sector as a separate problem. According to information he received from residents of the left bank of the Kherson region, local farmers are facing an acute shortage of fuel and a lack of water for irrigation. In addition, two consecutive years of poor harvests have led to the accumulation of debts and loan obligations among many farmers.
According to Baturin, an increasing number of farmers in the occupied territories are considering shutting down their businesses due to the difficult economic situation. Against this backdrop, concerns about a possible food shortage are growing among the local population.
The journalist urged residents of the temporarily occupied territories to assess potential risks in advance and prepare for various scenarios related to a worsening humanitarian situation.
