On Thursday, July 23, residents of Odesa took to the streets for the eighth time to protest the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov as defense minister. Today, they unfurled a flag measuring 6 by 12 meters.

An Intenta photojournalist attended the rally.

As on previous days, people gathered on Deribasovskaya Street near the City Garden. Protesterschanted “Stop stealing!” and “Fedorov—Minister of Defense!”

One of the protesters, Olga, noted that “the protest isn’t ending because not all of the people’s demands have been met.”

Among the participants was a veteran named Vladislav. He came to the rally carrying a sign that read “Give the Ministry of Veterans Affairs back to the veterans.” Vladislav explained that he joined the protest to ensure that competent people are put in their rightful positions.

“I also came out to protest today so that competent people would be put in their rightful places. Fedorov was appointed Minister of Defense—and rightly so; he’ll be effective there,” he said.

Vladislav also expressed dissatisfaction with Kim’s appointment as head of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and called for the development and effective implementation of a veterans’ policy in Ukraine.

In the evening, the protesters sang the Ukrainian national anthem accompanied by a bandura.

On July 18, the rally in support ofMykhailo Fedorov was combined with the fifth “Sessiz qıçıruvı: Silent Scream. Musa Mamut” rally, dedicated toMusa Mustafa. At that time, the rally participants emphasized that instead of freeing prisoners of war, the authorities were releasing people who had helped free them.
