On the morning of August 7, an explosion occurred in the Black Sea near the resort village of Kobleve in the Mykolaiv region. A 45-year-old man who was in the water was killed. Two other women who were on the shore were injured.
This was reported by Georgy Reshetilov, acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
According to him, the explosion occurred in the Black Sea. As a result of the detonation of an explosive device, the man died at the scene.
Two women were also injured. Medical personnel provided on-site treatment to the 47-year-old victim. The 63-year-old woman was hospitalized; doctors assess her condition as moderate.
As Georgy Reshetilov noted, the tragedy could have been prevented. That section of the coastline was fenced off and marked with warning signs about the danger of mines.
He also reminded the public that swimming in the sea remains prohibited throughout the Mykolaiv region due to the threat of explosive devices.
