Funds allocated to Odesa region to complete 10 school shelters

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated additional funding to Odesa region as part of a state subvention to complete the construction of shelters in schools.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, it is about the completion of 10 shelters, the construction of which began in 2025 and which already have a degree of readiness of more than 60%, and two more new facilities in Artsyzka and Safianivska communities.

The projects are being implemented by local communities under the Ukraine Facility program on a co-financing basis with the state. This is part of the LEARN Program, a joint effort with the World Bank Ukraine to ensure children's access to education even in times of war.

Also, three educational institutions in Odesa region have successfully passed the competitive selection of the Ministry of Education and Science for the modernization of canteens:

  • Richelieu Scientific Lyceum.
  • Odesa Lyceum No. 86.
  • Lyceum of the Velykodolynska community.

The projects include upgrading equipment and implementing modern quality and safety standards. Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers reported that 25 educational institutions would receive funding for the purchase of equipment, creation and modernization of canteens. The government has approved the second allocation of UAH 421.1 million in subventions for the arrangement of school canteens in 15 regions.

The list includes schools from Dnipropetrovs'k, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions. There is also a military lyceum among the institutions.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate UAH 36 million 50 thousand to Odesa region for the installation of fire protection in secondary education institutions.
