The municipal enterprise Mykolaivelectrotrans has submitted a proposal to the executive committee to raise the tariff.

This was reported by MikVisti with reference to Yuriy Smetana, director of Mykolaivelectrotrans.

According to the head of the company, even the proposed tariff does not cover real costs. In 2025, the economically justified cost of transporting one passenger was about UAH 22, and in the first quarter of 2026 it was already more than UAH 26.

According to the proposal:

  • UAH 15 for a paper ticket
  • UAH 12 for a ticket via QR code

Currently, the fares are UAH 10 and UAH 8, respectively.

The main reasons are the rising cost of electricity, fuel, and higher wages.

At the same time, the company receives significant financial support from the city budget. Since the beginning of 2026, UAH 128.1 million has already been transferred to Mykolaivelectrotrans' accounts as compensation for the transportation of privileged categories of the population. On average, this is about UAH 32 million per month.

Over the year, such support may amount to about UAH 384 million.

In addition, over the past two years, the company has received more than UAH 212 million in contributions to its authorized capital.

Mykolaivelektrotrans notes that if budget funding continues and there is no sharp increase in costs, the new tariff may remain unchanged until the end of the year.

As Intent previously wrote, a new trolleybus route No. 14 "Mykolaiv-Vantazhnyi - Kazarskoho Street" will soon appear in Mykolaiv.

In addition, Mykolaiv will receive 40 tramcars from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. These are M29 trams, which were previously used in the Swedish urban transportation system.

As a reminder, in December 2025, tram service was resumed in Mykolaiv on the route No. 3 ChSZ - 10th Military. Electric vehicles are running again according to their usual schedule.
