A photo project exploring dance and architecture was created on the roof of the Odesa Opera House

The creators’ main idea was to showcase the synergy between the human body and classical architecture. The authors deliberately chose a black-and-white aesthetic. This allowed them to eliminate distractions and focus the viewer’s attention on what matters most—the artists’ forms, lines, personalities, and emotions.
The title of the photo project references the ancient Greek muse of dance— Terpsichore.
Terpsichore is an ancient Greek goddess considered the patroness of dance and choral singing. Her name literally translates as “she who delights in dance.” Together with the god Apollo, she embodies the harmony between a person’s inner state and the plasticity of the body, which is why in modern culture her name has become a widely accepted poetic metaphor for the graceful art of ballet and choreography.
The Odessa National Opera has also announced the opening of its rooftop as a new location for photo shoots.
As Intent reported, an exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of artist Sonia Delaunay, who was born in Odesa, opened in Odesa on April 3. None of Sonia Delaunay’s works remain in Ukraine, although her name ranks among the foremost figures of the global avant-garde. Having founded an artistic movement, Sonia Delaunay repeatedly emphasized that her impressions of Ukrainian culture and the vibrant Ukrainian weddings inspired her to create her works of simultaneism.
