On February 14, three deminers - Vadym Yelisieiev, Olena Kliuchnikova, and Yevhen Siryk- were killed in a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv.

According to the press service, the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the security of Ukraine were employees of the Center for Mine Action, performing one of the most dangerous missions - clearing the land of mines and explosives.

"Young. Bright. Kind. Beautiful."- this is how their colleagues remember their colleagues. The UDS team expressed their sincere condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the victims and called for support for the families of the victims and to join the fundraising.

On February 14, an explosion occurred on Pohranichna Street near a catering establishment. The explosion killed people and injured eight others. Investigators from the regional police headquarters, forensic experts, explosives experts, SBU officers, rescuers and medics were working at the scene.

In a comment to Suspilne, Yana Konopelko , a spokeswoman for the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region, said that as of February 15, an investigation under Part 3 of Article 258, "Terrorist Act," was underway. According to her, counterintelligence and operational measures are being taken, as well as investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the crime.

Recently, the SBU and the National Police exposed an agent group of Russian special services that was preparing a series of terrorist attacks in Odesa region. The criminals were detained while preparing an explosion near one of the district police stations. They planned to set fire to police cars and, when law enforcement officers arrived, to remotely detonate an explosive device disguised as a fire extinguisher.

Earlier, the SBU neutralized a criminal group that was fulfilling an "order" from Russia to commit arsons. As a result of the special operation in Kherson, Odesa and Mykolaiv, the SBU detained the organizer and three members of the criminal group coordinated by the FSB.
